CSTM Continuing Education Spotlight

Encountering God through Sacred Art, Prophetic Text, and Bodily Experience
Saturday, March 29, 10:00 a.m. ET | Event Registration

23rd ANNUAL EVELYN UNDERHILL LECTURE IN CHRISTIAN SPIRITUALITY

How and where do we encounter God? The prophets Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel saw visions of God at crucial moments in their people’s history. The sacred texts that record their visions and oracles make it possible for later audiences to similarly experience God’s presence and summons, while the sacred art of illumination makes this invitation vibrant and compelling. As we discover the invitation prophetic text and sacred illumination hold for Christian spirituality, join us as Professor Anathea Portier-Young examines key passages from these prophetic books and their illuminations in The Saint John’s Bible.
